Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Evolusi

The Jurnal Evolusi adopts a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, credibility, and scholarly value of all published articles.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, all manuscripts undergo a preliminary review by the editorial team to verify that they:

  • Align with the journal’s aims and scope
  • Comply with formatting and submission guidelines
  • Meet basic academic and language standards

Only manuscripts that meet these criteria proceed to the peer review stage.

2. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who have relevant expertise in the subject area.

3. Review Model: Single-Blind

AJPBS follows a single-blind review process, where:

  • Reviewers know the identity of the authors
  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers

4. Reviewer Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Academic rigor and methodological soundness
  • Relevance and significance of findings
  • Clarity, coherence, and structure

Each reviewer provides a detailed report with a recommendation.

5. Review Timeline

The typical duration for the review process ranges from 1 to 3 months, depending on the availability and responsiveness of the reviewers.

6. Editorial Decision

Upon receiving reviewer feedback, the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor makes the final decision. The editorial team may:

  • Accept the manuscript
  • Request revisions
  • Reject the manuscript

Authors are informed of the decision via email.

7. Revisions

If revisions are required:

  • Authors must submit the revised manuscript within 30 days
  • If the revisions are substantial, the revised manuscript may be sent for another round of review

8. Final Acceptance and Publication

After successful completion of the review and revision process:

  • The manuscript is formally accepted for publication
  • Authors receive an official acceptance letter
  • The article is scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue
