Abstract

The global transportation sector, a significant contributor to carbon emissions, is undergoing a transformation with the rise of green logistics aimed at minimizing its environmental impact. This transition is driven by technological innovations, governmental policies, and consumer demand for sustainable practices. Green logistics incorporates strategies such as the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), route optimization, autonomous vehicles, and the integration of renewable energy sources. These technologies not only enhance operational efficiency but also reduce the carbon footprint of logistics operations. Despite these advancements, challenges persist, including high upfront costs, inadequate infrastructure, and regulatory inconsistencies. The development of electric vehicle charging stations, the standardization of green logistics policies, and further technological innovations are critical to overcoming these barriers. Moreover, organizations face resistance to change, which can be addressed through leadership commitment and employee education. As the demand for sustainability continues to grow, green logistics presents an opportunity for businesses to gain a competitive edge while contributing to global sustainability goals. The future of green logistics depends on continued technological advancements, supportive government policies, and the collective efforts of businesses and consumers to promote sustainable practices.
