Analysis of the determinants of youth unemployment in Jambi Province

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the working-age population, provincial minimum wage, human development index, inflation, economic growth, and investment on youth unemployment in Jambi Province. The analysis method uses quantitative descriptive analysis with secondary data, and the analytical tool employed is multiple linear regression. The research object is Jambi Province for the period 2000-2024. The F-statistic estimation results indicate that the simultaneous test shows all independent variables, namely the working-age population, provincial minimum wage, human development index, inflation, economic growth, and investment, collectively affect youth unemployment in Jambi Province. The results of the estimated t-statistics indicate that, partially, the test shows that the human development index, economic growth, and investment variables have a significant effect on youth unemployment in Jambi Province, while the working-age population, provincial minimum wage, and inflation variables do not have a significant effect on youth unemployment in Jambi Province.
