Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Asian Journal of Professional and Business Studies (AJPBS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. As part of our commitment to scholarly integrity, we have established the following guidelines for authors, editors, and reviewers to adhere to. These guidelines are designed to ensure that all research published in AJPBS meets the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and transparency.

1. Editor Roles and Responsibilities

The Editors and/or Editorial Board should:

  • Review submitted manuscripts for intellectual content, ensuring high-quality publications.
  • Keep all information regarding submitted manuscripts confidential.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest during the review and publication process.
  • Make publication decisions based solely on the intellectual merit of the manuscripts, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
  • Ensure the proper review of manuscripts for suspected plagiarism.
  • Seek to attract high-quality submissions and identify special issue topics.

Editor Responsibilities toward Reviewers:

  • Assign manuscripts for review based on each reviewer’s expertise.
  • Establish clear guidelines for timely and confidential review of manuscripts.
  • Ensure that reviewers avoid conflicts of interest and provide constructive and unbiased feedback.

2. Author and Corresponding Author Responsibilities

Authorship Criteria:

  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the work.
  • All contributors who qualify for authorship or acknowledgment should be listed, and they must approve the final manuscript prior to submission.
  • Authors must ensure that they have produced entirely original works, and if any third-party material is used, it must be properly cited.

Responsibilities of Authors:

  • Authors must assign copyright to the journal or grant the publisher a license to reproduce, distribute, and display the work under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license. Under this license, anyone may reproduce, distribute, translate, and create derivative works of the article, for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, as long as full attribution is given to the original authors and publication. For more details, please visit Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that all permissions for third-party materials used in the article are obtained.
  • Authors should avoid submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals concurrently and should notify the journal of any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Manuscripts should include a statement indicating that the study complies with relevant ethical guidelines and that informed consent has been obtained for experiments involving human subjects.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities:

  • The corresponding author must ensure all co-authors have approved the manuscript before submission and handle communication with the journal during the review process.

3. Peer-Review Process

Reviewer Responsibilities:

  • Reviewers should provide unbiased, confidential, and constructive feedback on the scholarly merits of the manuscript.
  • Reviewers must respect the confidentiality of the review process and avoid discussing or sharing the content with others.
  • Reviewers are encouraged to recommend improvements and raise any ethical concerns, including potential conflicts of interest or violations of ethical standards.

4. Publication Ethics

  • Fostering Transparency: The editorial team of AJPBS ensures that all articles are published following fair and transparent review processes.
  • Integrity: Any allegations of research misconduct will be investigated appropriately. If misconduct is identified, corrective actions, such as retraction or correction, will be taken in line with the journal’s ethical guidelines.
  • Corrections and Retractions: AJPBS is committed to publishing corrections, retractions, and apologies when necessary, ensuring the integrity of the scholarly record.

5. Copyright and Access

  • Authors retain ownership of the data in their work but may be required to sign a copyright transfer agreement or a licensing agreement to grant the publisher the rights to reproduce, distribute, and display the article.
  • This article is published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, which allows anyone to reproduce, distribute, and create derivative works of the article, as long as full attribution is given to the original authors and publication. 6. Archiving

The Asian Journal of Professional and Business Studies (AJPBS) is published online with a frequency of two issues per year. Additionally, special issues will be published periodically as needed.

7. Potential Conflict of Interest

Editors, authors, reviewers, and all involved in the publication process must disclose any conflicts of interest. In case of any potential conflict, the journal will take steps to ensure impartiality, including assigning a different reviewer or editor.
