Abstract

Educators are responsible for helping students achieve both academic and character development success. However, in the real world, teachers may sometimes display both positive and negative behaviors. One such negative behavior is favoritism. This report discusses the definition and concept of favoritism in educational settings. Favoritism shown by educators towards certain students can cause others to feel neglected, confused, and demotivated, which may lead to negative effects on their academic performance and emotional well-being. The study also examines several factors that contribute to favoritism, including students’ physical appearance and their social and economic backgrounds. Hence, this report also provides recommendations on how to address and reduce favoritism in schools and higher education institutions.
